History
Your practice will grow due to our expertise and experience developed from managing audiology practices, growing a multi-location private audiology practice, hearing instrument sales and marketing, providing audiology services and extensive audiology practice consulting. Founded in 1999, EPO Direct is a unique consulting and coaching service specializing in practice development for hearing professionals including audiologists and physicians/surgeons. At the inception of EPO Direct the management team had over fifty years of hearing healthcare industry experience.

Patty Petermann, AuD, founder, worked for over 18 years in several aspects of audiology including providing diagnostic and rehabilitative services to children and adults as well as management of audiology offices. Dr. Petermann is a founding partner with Steve Malos in a multi-location, multi-million dollar hearing aid and audiology practice in the Seattle, Washington area which she helped grow from a single clinic. Its revenues and profits increased more than 10 fold since the purchase of the initial clinic.

Dr. Petermann created and implemented the curriculum for the first vocational hearing aid technology program in the United States. She also provided competency-based, performance-oriented instruction to adults interested in pursuing a career in the hearing healthcare industry.

Dr. Petermann holds a Doctorate degree in Audiology from A.T. Still University, a Master's degree in Audiology from the University of Hawaii and a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science from Bradley University.

Maryellen Brisson, AuD , Executive Consultant, has over 30 years of experience in the hearing healthcare industry. As one of the top performing Regional Sales Managers for the largest, multi-national hearing aid manufacturer in the world, Maryellen was responsible for managing sales for a large region of the U.S. She also received numerous sales awards for outstanding performance. Maryellen has experience as an audiologist in hospital, ENT and private practice settings.

Dr. Brisson is effective in developing new market opportunities in addition to creating and implementing sales incentives to stimulate markets. She achieves excellent sales results using her skills in recruiting, training, coaching, mentoring and retaining sales staff and by establishing and maintaining effective time management schedules for personnel to perform at optimum levels. She is proficient at exercising fiscal responsibility and training others how to excel in this area.

Dr. Brisson holds a Doctorate degree in Audiology from A.T. Still University as well as a Master of Science in Audiology and a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Arizona. She holds licenses in California for both Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing.

Zachary Call, Executive Consultant, has over fifteen years in strategic selling and marketing experience selling to both large healthcare and medium sized companies worldwide. 

Mr. Call formerly worked as a Business Development Manager with Sonic Innovations for nine years. During Zachary’s career at Sonic Innovations he worked in sales, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, and team management.  The company grew to to over 125 million during his time.  Zachary has an enviable track record of developing and building relationships, and executing sales and marketing initiatives. 

Mr. Call has a Masters degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing.  He joined EPO Direct as an Executive Consultant in December 2009. .

Steve Malos founded EPO Direct to consult with audiologists and physicians/surgeons. As a lead consultant for EPO Direct he has successfully consulted with start-up audiology clinics as well as managing clinics for multi-billion dollar healthcare group and ENT audiology departments.

In 1997, Steve became a majority partner in the purchase of a single office audiology practice which he helped grow into a multi-location, multi-million dollar hearing aid and audiology practice in the Seattle, Washington area. Its revenues and profits increased more than 10 fold since the purchase of the initial clinic.

Steve has over 12 years of successful sales and marketing experience with hearing aid manufacturers, including nine years at Siemens. Steve has over 10 years experience in audiology practice management.
